Our 5 Mile Championship results from the Bronte 5 are now available here. Apologies for the delay in confirming these, and for some errors in handing out trophies on the night. There’s an explanation above the results if you want one.
To those of you who won trophies but weren’t awarded them on the night (Rob Abbey, Shaun Jordan, Catherine Milner, Katie Jennings, Stephanie Dickinson, Ann Marie Roper, and Caroline Francis), well done and we will try to get your prizes to you. (If you were given a trophy in error, we aren’t planning to try to recover these.)
Admin headaches aside, we hope you enjoyed the race, especially the ramp on Moorside Lane, which I’m going to call the “mur de Haworth”. A proper way to end the climb.
We now have our third Grand Prix race at Middleton Park on Wednesday to look forward to, followed by our 10 Mile Champs at the Eccup 10 on Sunday.
This year, just for fun, we’re running a medals table to keep track of which clubs win most individual trophies at our championships. After our first two championships, the Cross Country and 5 Mile, Bingley have a good lead over Baildon and Queensbury. But looking at the entry list for the 10 Mile Champs on Sunday, things may well look a lot tighter next week.
